About the PUD

Kittitas County PUD#1 is a local, non-profit consumer owned electric utility that by State Law can serve anywhere in Kittitas County outside of the City limits of Ellensburg. Eighty percent of our wholesale power supply comes from the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA)and twenty percent of our power comes from the Preist Rapids Dam which is owned and operated by Grant PUD. Kittitas PUD was formed in 1939 to serve the rural residents of Kittitas County. Since that time we have been dedicated to providing excellent customer service, keeping our rates low, and providing dependable electric service.

About

Our Board of Commissioners, comprised of local citizens elected on a non-partisan basis, set policy for this utility. Three Commissioners reside on the Board and each represent a certain area of Kittitas County. The Commissioners are elected for six year terms and the terms are staggered so that members of the Board are elected every two years.
